Friday, May 16: 

A scrimmage game between Southaven and Oxford will be held and we have been asked to open the home concession stand.  We are limiting the items sold, but still need help.  Game begins at 6PM.  We were not notified about the game until yesterday – thus the late notice requesting volunteers.  We would like 6 general concession workers and 2 cooks (one to start cooking between 5-5:30).  We have no idea of how many spectators to expect Friday night. 

 If you can help us, please either

 

1) see Paula Harris at our booster meeting 5/15 or

2) email her at pyh62@hotmail.com

 

Saturday, May 31, from 9AM-2PM: 

A workday for our building is planned.  Please contact Doug Graham if you can attend by

 

1) emailing him at graham426@aol.com or

2) signing up with him at the Booster meeting 5/15

 

Important Sponsorship Info

Parents – We are actively seeking financial support from the local business community. Please see the request letter and the document outlining the different levels of sponsorship in the "Sponsorships" section. Businesses respond better to "person to person" requests. If you know someone personally, or someone else who might be interested but do not wish to approach them, just get us their contact info and we'll take care of it. Most places need some sort of documentation to justify the sponsorship. If the documentation mentioned above is not sufficient for a potential sponsor, please e-mail Doug Graham at grahamd426@aol.com   He will get you the type of documentation your sponsor needs.

Sandra has a vision for the program that includes many

different people involved at many levels

- not one person doing 25 things -

We are asking for volunteers in the following areas:

 
bullet

Equipment - loading, unloading, building, transporting what the band needs to perform (Doug Graham coordinates these folks)

bullet

Uniforms – measuring, inventory, maintenance, etc.  (Karen Hatch, Angie Harvey, & Sandy Jeter have all stepped forward here since the meeting)

bullet

T-shirts – get show shirt orders together, collect sizes, & distribute them upon arrival

bullet

Banquet at the end of the year – a celebration for grades 9-12, with a special recognition for seniors

bullet

Concessions  (Paula Harris assisted Sherry Sparks all of last year and will be heading up this area this year)

bullet

Bus drivers – need more as our program expands (we already take 5 buses when we travel)

bullet

Color Guard – sewing, uniform repairs, etc.  (Angie Harvey has agreed to serve as a “point person” between instructors & parents, but we still need Guard moms to help out with things as they arise)
